Drama Much? Be the Solution!

Do you like drama? Do you like it so much that you are the source of most drama and gossip? Let me give you some examples... do you pry into the private conversations of others? Do you take little information that you heard and make assumptions when you tell others? Do you spread rumors that are harmful to others, even if you don't know them to be true? What about constantly comparing yourself to others? Finding any little flaw in the next person, to make yourself feel better about yourself?

Everyone likes a little drama, but if you find yourself doing more than one of these activities, it's time to ask yourself some essential questions. Why are you the source of drama? Are you unhappy with something in your life? Are you expressing your dislike of life by passively inserting negativity into other people's life? Do you tear down the next person because you don't feel like you measure up?

First and foremost, you are enough! You are beautiful in ways you don't realize and you are a gift to the world. I would encourage you to take some time to love on yourself and remove the things in your life that make you unhappy. Be BRAVE enough to have a vulnerable and crucial conversation with yourself. Assure yourself that you deserve to be happy; but also be willing to do the work. At a certain point in my life, I had friends who talked to me about my negativity and it was the best gift anyone has given me. I was deeply unhappy and I needed to confront the issues that were keeping me in a state of unhappiness. It wasn't easy for my friends to have the conversation nor was it easy for me to receive the message, but I am forever grateful.

Whether it's you or a friend who needs a reality check about their negatively, either way, be brave enough to confront the issues through love! Address the issue not the person and remember honesty is the best gift. Even if the person you need to be honest with is yourself.

With love,

Val Barnett
